You must be at least 18 years old to ride a Rido e-scooter or e-bike. You'll need to verify your age when creating an account in the app.

How do I find and unlock a Rido vehicle?

Open the Rido app, find a vehicle near you on the map, scan the QR code on the handlebar, and you're ready to ride. The app shows real-time availability and battery levels.

Do I need a driver's license?

For e-scooters: no license is required in most Spanish cities for speeds up to 25 km/h. For e-bikes: no license is required as they are classified as pedal-assist bicycles under Spanish law. Always check local regulations.

What happens if I damage a vehicle?

You are responsible for up to €2,000 in damage as outlined in our Terms of Service. We recommend riding carefully and parking responsibly. Our tandem detection system monitors for misuse.

Can I ride in bike lanes?

Yes! In Spain, e-scooters and e-bikes are permitted in bike lanes and on roads with speed limits up to 30 km/h. Always avoid sidewalks and pedestrian zones.

Where do I park when I'm done?

Park in designated areas shown in the app. These are typically bike rack zones or marked parking areas. Keep sidewalks clear for pedestrians and accessibility.

Do I need to wear a helmet?

We strongly recommend wearing a helmet for every ride. In many Spanish cities, helmets are legally required for e-scooter riders. We include a helmet with every scooter and offer helmet rewards in the app.

How much does it cost?

Pay As You Go: €1.00 unlock + €0.35 per minute. Rido Pass: Free unlock + €0.25 per minute. Day Pass: €14.99 for unlimited 24-hour rides. No minimum top-up, no hidden fees.

What is the Rido Pass?

The Rido Pass gives you free unlocks and a reduced per-minute rate of €0.25/min (instead of €0.35/min). It's perfect for frequent riders who want to save on every ride.

Can I get a refund for unused balance?

Yes! We offer free refunds of unused balance. No minimum top-up required, and you can request a refund at any time through the app. See our Terms of Service for details.

What if the battery dies during my ride?

Our app shows real-time battery levels so you can choose a fully charged vehicle. If a battery runs low during your ride, you can end it at any designated parking area — no extra charge.

This policy explains which cookies and similar technologies are used on the Rido website, why we use them, and how you can manage or withdraw your consent at any time.

1. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies?

Cookies are small data files that a website stores on your device (computer, smartphone, or tablet) when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites work, remember your preferences, and provide information to the site's owners.

In addition to cookies, websites may use similar technologies such as local storage (a browser feature that stores information on your device without an expiry date) and cookieless analytics (measurement techniques that do not store identifiers on your device). This policy covers all such technologies.

2. What Rido Actually Uses

We believe in being precise about what runs on your device. The Rido website does not set any traditional tracking cookies. Specifically, we use:

Consent preference (local storage): When you respond to our cookie banner, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage under the key rido-cookie-consent, together with the date of your decision. This is strictly necessary so that we can respect your choice and avoid showing you the banner on every visit. It remains on your device until you clear your browser data.
Consent-based, cookieless analytics (Vercel Analytics): Only if you click "Accept" on our consent banner, we measure aggregate website traffic (page views, visit counts) using Vercel Analytics. If you decline — or simply do not respond to the banner — the analytics script is never loaded and no measurement takes place. Even when active, Vercel Analytics operates without cookies and without storing identifiers on your device; it does not track you across websites, and the data we receive is anonymous and aggregated.
Self-hosted fonts: The typefaces used on our website are hosted on our own servers and delivered together with the rest of the website. No font files are requested from Google Fonts or any other third party, no cookies are set, and your IP address is not transmitted to any external font provider.

We do not use advertising cookies, social media tracking pixels, or any third-party cookies that profile your behaviour across websites.
